Forgotten Graves

by Jad   Apr 28, 2010

Generations wiped out from history.
Worn and weathered tombstones
Shown no sign of admiration,
For the dead in consideration.

Love for these forgotten ones,
Lingers but shown by no means.
Destroyed fencing as darkness settles.
Tall grass looms with rusted metal.

Sorrow fills one heart,
At the sight of degradation.
Once a sanctuary to rest
No more consider but a mess.

Restoring forgotten places,
To the former sight it held.
A place to Honor our past.
A momentum to forever last.

Now hope starts to die
For few things are done,
Restoring these forgotten graves
Fading away as the oceans waves.

Aah this was sooo good, it's truly sad to see this happen , & those that have passed to be forgotten... yet it happens.. which is a shame. A nice job .

Austin, this brought to my mind such a vivid image of a forgotten cementary, over run by weeds, broken headstones, in a state of disrepair a sad sight to see that people have forgotten those whom they loved. Well done.
