Dipping Toes

by Stephanie   May 15, 2010

You stare with blank, liquid eyes,
And the water's surface reflects no soul
How can anyone with such a warm exterior,
Be so cold?

What you see is what you see,
You refuse to dive below the surface
With the double B's bobbing on the bay
Beauty and Brains
Both used to the capacity of their limits
What is beautiful turns ugly
What is smart turns dull

Cower coward,
For you prefer to not plunge in,
To see what is underneath the waters
Dipping your toes will only get you so far,
Before you drown,
And love swims away
