Sneaking Suspicion

by Melissa   Aug 9, 2010

I heard a song today,
it spoke of love
without armor-
and I thought about how my heart
betrays her vulnerability
with a stiff lip,
like a dippy child
too quick to side with indecision

I ponder love's possibilities,
the idea tempts my tongue
into speaking without hindrance

but suspicion keeps me
a kiss away
from rejection-
I won't be the one all awkward
with shock,
when love decides to leave, silently,
like youth

I really felt you were sharing a thought with the reader in this verse. Like it was just something that came to your mind and you spoke it out loud, hope you understand what I mean.

    but suspicion keeps me
    a kiss away
    from rejection-

I singled this out because it showed your vulnerability and uncertainty. Over all I really loved this one.
