Afterglow Longing

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 31, 2010

The bells below echo
and I discard their warning,
his pocket invitation
tickles playfully
and challenges my imagination.

I leap toward the roof
as I cross jolly perennials
into your open smile.

He slants his head,
I saved a place for you
will you join me, my love
while we reach harmony.

My answer drizzles
and fills our steps
with relieving restoration,
brushes of early evening
sensuality.

I will dance with you,
my knight and artist,
you direct my heart.
