Wanting content

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 22, 2011

I glance back at the stoic siding and windy shafts
with reminiscence of healthier schedules,
where your tacit eye didn't prompt my nodding
and when the waves wouldn't lift at command.
I want to sigh again and build sporadically,
actually marking rocks, weathered beads
of a rosary depleted in divorced contracts.

Ah maybe not all of them, but one for sure. Oh well, maybe I'm being too critical.

To be honest, this was too much packed into only a few lines. The vocabulary was just too advanced for the normal reader, thus making such a tiny poem a mouthful to read. I think with this poem, simplicity would have been the way to go, I personally would have to look up quite a few of these words to understand the meaning of the poem. Maybe it's just me. :|
