Shiver

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 5, 2011

He slashed through the storm,
slitting open vaporous eyes
that showed no affection.
I observed the battle
with sceptic legs,
unsure which direction
to badger after.

And he answered
temperamentally,
thrashing himself
upon my hips,
to settle the dispute.

In that opening
of assault,
I grabbed my last
light from above,
wishing the speck
would ignite his body.
