It Happened as the world ended

And she could taste rain,
feel his presence ready...
beckoning...

Not deriving from lust
[ for she asked
God's permission;
He showed her
how to brush love ]

Without knowledge,
without gentleness,
she breathed precious
seconds
...giving fully...
molding herself
against sweet, hard perfume-
masculinity bottled
until knotting
his heart into hers.
