Don't Wash Away.

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 24, 2011

She's written her tragedies down in passionate ink
Waiting for a sign from the clear, cloudless sky
To send her heart's weeping for a chance to rethink
A time where war's drawn every battle to lost goodbye.

Weaving ribbons through her plaited sunlit hair
Her answer sails across unmarked waters beyond
With indigo eyes, her little hands take on a swear
A promise to never stop lengthening their bond.

At night, she soothes the stars in a single request
That her words won't faint at the sight of bloodshed
Somehow they must learn to heal his heart compressed
So the declaration of love may be freely widespread.

She whispers before letting her limbs fall asleep
Hoping dreams will connect their yearning desire
And she might know and have a love forever to keep
In full abundance, their eternal vows to soon transpire.
