Romantic Fireside.

by Poet on the Piano   Jul 6, 2011

.

As deeply as I receive your warmth
there is a daring face of romance
that throbs wildly out in white masks.
It never conceals itself,
though you hide us from what is real,
the mystery of snow's kiss
raining on a lucky pair of soul mates.
I run away from you
on impulse
checking to make sure
my flight is canceled,
and I can stand in this field
of dazzling winter intrigue,
to appreciate the fire of our passion
and the cold twist that pulls us
closer.

Sometimes romance needs
the rush, the spiraling pulse
of another season-
to fall out of habit
and create new,
winged with snow's blessing,
flames.

When I saw the title, I was not expecting the incredibly crafted poem I read shortly after. Your descriptions are wonderful. Great work!
