Every Night

Every night,
she stares out the window,
staring at the moon,
longing for the past.

She misses his touch,
dreams about his love,
wishing to be embraced in his arms,
him kissing her lips forcefully,
feeling the electricity flowing through her body,
knowing shes in love.

Every night,
she stares out the window,
wondering if he misses her too,
hopes he misses her beautiful smile,
as he called it,
hopes hes longing for her touch,
to feel the heat between them,
wishes he could hear her say i love you.

But she knows better,
knows that they are over,
that no longer can she feel,
his lips pressed against hers,
his arms around her holding her tight,
no longer can she,
look into his eyes knowing hes the only one,
she can't hear him say i love you.

Everything they once had,
shes come to accept the fact,
its no longer there,
its gone in the wind,
added to the memories,
in the back of her mind.

But still Every night,
she stares out that window,
staring at the moon,
longing for the past,
wishing things could change.

But knowing,
its gone,
never to be again,
as tears fall from her eyes,
she stands up pulling down the blinds,
for no longer,
will she stare out that window.

Every night,
instead,
she will pray to god,
to know that she will be okay,
and maybe in time,
when she looks out that window,
it will be to hope,
her new love is staring at it too.
