Beneath The Oak Tree

by Stephanie   Aug 21, 2011

Beneath the oak tree,
Where we shared our,
Goals,
Hopes,
Dreams

We laughed until our eyes were teary,
Kept crying until we forgot our fears
Expressed fears until we felt assure
Shared assurance until death do us part

All of this,
Simple times like this,
Were what made us
Just like the slow branches,
Of our dear oak tree,
Our love slowly intertwined,
And reached those wispy clouds,
In the sky

It all happened here,
Beneath the oak tree
Where we shared our
Memories,
Future,
Love

    Mmm, Well,
The flow was a little rocky, mainly I think because of the forced rhymes in the second stanza,
The rhyming scheme (If there was 1) needs a little work,
I myself would think free verse would work best with this.
The wording was a little too simple, but that can be worked on.

Overall though, I liked the title, and the sweetness of the poem,

    Love,
    Tara-Kay
