Faith

by Paul Gondwe   Aug 21, 2011

I will forever proclaim my love
Emancipated from the shackles that held me tight
Helpless I succumbed in vain,
not knowing all I needed was faith

Come what May, sunshine or rain
My love will still flow in linear
Be it drifting down the drain,
filling up a whole valley, even a plain

You have me tide up,
bound in metal chains
Even if you leave the keys,
I will not escape
I am prisoner of love,
trapped inside the heart of an angel

Your beauty is hard to describe
Majestically you walk,
magnificent,
Faith, a goddess divine

Your passion has got me drunk
Filling me to the brim,
like liquor or sweet wine

I try hard to make you smile
Scribbling this love poem, hoping it rhymes
I have fallen deep
In a steep hole,
full of light

Hold my hand,
let us gaze at the moon,
kiss while the stars shine bright

Faith was just a word
Now am faced with your love,
entering deep in me like a sword
A feeling I enjoy

Each day,
I look forward to seeing you
when I do, am filled with joy

Note: Faith is my girlfriend

I loved this. Such compassion, love and the sweet emotions. :)

"Your beauty is hard to describe
    Majestically you walk,
    magnificent,
Faith, a goddess divine" I loved this stanza. Even if your lady's name wasn't Faith, it'd still fit in perfectly. I loved how you described her here, like she is of no other woman, no beauty compared. Beautiful words. :) I hope she enjoyed this poem as much as I.

Nicely written. I liked it. The wording was good. It is a nice length. The flow was ok. I see nothing worth fixing.

    gave it a 5/5
