My Brickwall

Do you see my brick wall,
over 10,000ft high,
protects my heart,
lets nobody in,
can you see it,
the tallest its been yet.

I'm scared,
terrified to death,
of getting hurt again,
its already shattered to pieces,
noway to be fixed,
the first person I let in,
ruins everything for me.

My brick wall,
keeps me protected,
pushes away everybody who tries,
they make it half way up the wall,
and slide back down,
giving up,
saying this is hopeless,
she'll never let me in,
and guess what,
there right.

I'm scarred,
all over my body,
but my heart is the most bruised of all,
jagged pieces all over the floor,
no attempts to even try to fit the pieces back together,
just a broken organ,
its only purpose is pumping blood.

My brick wall,
hides the hurt I've been through,
carries all the tears I've cried,
the blood I've lost,
the hate i bottle up,
but most of all,
the shattered pieces of my broken heart all over the floor.

I won't try,
i can't risk my heart again,
its been shattered twice,
anymore i couldn't handle,
call me stupid,
call me an idiot,
I'm being smart,
I'm protecting myself from heartbreak,
if you knew my pain,
you'd do the exact same.
