I still see who you are, beneath
all of this anger and hatred,
beyond all the fences you build
around your heart.

I still see who you are, you want
to convey your cruelty with every
gesture you make, with every
tough move you take.

I still see who you are, all the way
through those harsh brown eyes,
and deep inside what you claim is
now an ice cold heart.

I still see who you are, no matter how
far you walk and leave me behind, or
how hard you push me away every time
I take a step closer.

I still see who you are, since you
failed to notice that I closed my
eyes, and that I always looked at
you with my heart.

    Wow! I love this.... Girl, this poem has so much depth and raw emotion... I can relate to it! You've expressed emotions that are so hard, I hate the feeling of caring for someone, but seeing them slip away and change right before your eyes... Amazing! Great job hon!!!

    Wow this was really great. I enjoyed everything of it.. The simplicity, the images, and the flow are flawless..
    And to tell you, i thought that the title is somehow weak, until i read your note.
