Little Girl

by believeinlove87   Sep 3, 2011

Being a little girl,
mommy & daddy tucking you in at night,
reading you a fairy tale bed time story,
checking under the bed & in the closet for monsters
before turning off the light,
saying good night.

Elementary school,
when boys had cooties,
your only competition was who has the cutest clothes,
the best school supplies,
and who was more popular,
no boy friend girlfriend drama,
just being young and having fun.

Nobody getting heartbroken,
the only pain was a scrapped knee,
getting high on the swings,
out swinging each other,
racing each other down the street,
to see who was faster,
doing cartwheels in the grass,
just having a blast.

I miss these days,
miss being younger,
and having nothing to worry about,
yearning for the past so badly,
to just have your family together again,
no broken hearts,
no drama,
just pure happiness,
living life as a care free little girl.
