Draws A Broken Heart

by believeinlove87   Dec 4, 2011

Wiping away her falling tears,
watching him drive off in the truck,
pressing her hand against the window,
condensation from her breath fogging up,
she draws a broken heart.

Knocking on the door,
thinking my baby is finally here,
opening the door jumping into his arms,
his face reading something isn't right,
stomach turning into knots,
knowing deep down inside she won't
like what shes about to hear.

" I can't do this anymore... It's
-pausing- just not there,"
he stutters out barely,
shocked, jaw dropped, can't believe her ears,
just the other day they were talking about wedding plans,
" Get out, just get out," pointing to the door she says,
trying to grab her arm, she quickly pulls away.

Standing in front of the window,
watching him drive off in the truck,
not able to believe he doesn't want this,
can't stand the fact he broke her heart,
she wipes away the falling tears,
promising to herself,
I will heal;
& she will forget him as she wipes away
the broken heart.

This line hit me like a shovel

not able to believe he doesn't want this,

love often blinds my eyes, mind and ears

The poem is a great series of expressions of how I felt happy reading then into a deep sadness and hurt.

    5/5 for that expression
