My Last Day Alive [vent]

by Kuro   Dec 15, 2011

I decided I would appreciate
as much as I could for my last day alive.
I tried to appreciate the wind in my hair
the shoes on my feet,
the way my coshin on my steering wheel feels.
In the afterlife I would never be able to feel those again.

I decided to tell my family and friends
that I loved them and
how much they meant to me

I decided to give away all my prized possessions
I've lived a hollow life up to this point,
there is no use holding on to physical things.

I forgave my enemies;
invited everyone for lunch
and paid for their meals

A sense of peace falls over me,
as if nothing else matters.
Nothing is holding me back.
I feel free, no longer trapped.
What a wonderful feeling.

Why can't everyday feel this good?...

WHY CAN'T EVERYDAY FEEL THIS GOOD?!...

I think I'll do it again tomorrow.

Great message in this poem! You mention the last day of your life. If we each lived like it was our last day, we would take care of what was most essential. And the theme I see here is freedom, giving up our grudges, forgiving, setting your self free from the things that bound your life, facing the truth, etc. A wonderful feeling of freedom and release expressed here.

If we keep living like this thinking about others and doing good like we are never going to be able to do this then life will change for the better..hope all is well with you..take care.
