Love You Less

What is it that made my heart pound
so loudly every time I read your name?
When did I surrender to your love?
Where was my brain when my heart
fought to fall for you? How come now
I cant survive the day without you?

Only if I can find the answer to my
never ending questions, perhaps then
I would be ready to draw a new start
without you; to let go, to lose the key
that opened every door that once stood
as an obstacle between me and you.

I searched all the conversation
we had; thinking I'd find something
to stop falling for you. I wake up
convincing myself that today I will
fall out of love with you, instead I
end up loving you more.

It has been a while, and all I did
was fall again and again, until
last night. Thank you for pushing
me away the way you did, maybe
now I can start teaching myself
how to love you less every day.

I cant promise I will be able to do
it, I know I become so helpless when
I fight my heart against you. But I
beg you not to give me a false hope,
nor a new reason; for you are my
weakest temptation.
