Its always been you

We met in the eleventh grade,
You instantly caught my eye,
Such a sweet guy, Never failing to
keep a smile upon my face,
For four years its always been you.

Feelings here, Feelings disappear,
We always ending up liking each other again,
A sign that we are supposed to be?
Maybe... Possibly... Who Knows..
Never expecting you to finally want to try.

How can this be my feelings that used to be so
strong for you are fading away?
How can one guy I haven't talked to in six years
walk into my life and I want him?
I can't grasp the concept, Its always been you;
The one guy who captured my heart, Yet
Now my feelings are no longer the same.

We met in the eleventh grade,
Four years of liking each other down the drain,
The distance always got in the way; You promised
this time you won't give up,
I promised I wouldn't either,
How can I tell you my feelings have changed?

When for the past four years...
- Its always been you.

    I love how you have started off the poem and ended it with the same words but at the beginning of the poem - it meant something different to the end.

    The words For four years its always been you in the first stanza showed such love and emotions.

    When you wrote it in the last stanza you could feel these words had more heartbreak to them.

    Aww this started out as a really sweet poem... but then it got sad as you said your feelings changed. This poem expresses emotions that many people can relate to, to liking someone years ago, and possibly still liking them, or how those feelings change over the years. It brought back some memories reading this, and I smiled because the years may pass but sometimes when you do see someone you used to like, you still get those feelings.

    Great job with this poem :)
