Not So Sure

by xoxShorteexox   Jan 17, 2012

I'm not so sure what we are anymore,
Best friends? Enemies? Lovers gone astray? Someone I used to know?
Please, give me some sort of hint; I feel
So unsure of what we are meant to be anymore.

When I needed a best friend's advice,
You were no where to be found; when
I needed an enemy to knock me down,
You wouldn't even give me an devilish frown.

I'm not sure what to call this "thing,"
That I can bear gasp with both hands;
Yet I'm trying to be so strong for you
When I'm so unsure of what you even are.

If we're lovers gone astray, can you make
A detour back to my empty arms for now?
Someone I used to know may seem more
Fitting, but now I'm not so sure...

    I love this. I really understand where you're coming from in it. Me and my ex- I don't know what we are anymore. Feelings have yet to go away for me. But I don't know about for him. At times it's like we're total strangers. Like we never had a past together and that we are merely someone the other bumps into while walking down the street one cold, rainy night barely stopping to mutter a quiet sorry. While other times it's like we never hurt each other and we laugh as if we are once again the best friends we used to be. Giggling together in unison as his cheeks flush that soft shade of pink and his hair falls in his yes, reminding me why I fell in love.
