Halls With Echoing Words

by xoxShorteexox   Jan 22, 2012

Sitting in the middle of the empty hall,
Transfixed on the door if it'd change something
With notebooks filling both hands; darting eyes
At each and every little noise with hopes you'll appear.

Minutes slowly creeps into hours that seem
Endless even after the sunset and darkness
Pulling towards me on this unforgiving night,
Thoughts so focused on you, everything about you.

Slowly standing in mock disgust at the hallway
Full of musk and trails of broken hearts; I can
Almost hear them crunch so awkwardly,
Even after all these hours, I still feel the words.

The awful three words that ended it all,
"you love her," and suddenly I'm reliving it
like a cliche break up scene yet different since
you never knew; all those times I thought about you.
