Despair in her eyes

by believeinlove87   Feb 6, 2012

Can you see the despair in her eyes?
Do you hear the pain in her voice?
Isn't it obvious she is no longer the same;
The once glowing fire in her soul has died out.

Reminiscing about the treasured moments is all she
has left to do, refusing to let go of those old memories
she holds so dear to her heart; Crying out night after night
to be back in his arms, praying she leaves to be with him soon,
knowing their love was never meant to be this way.

Everyday her energy dries out fast, slumped over on the couch
face emotionless as a brick wall. Hearing his voice calling her
name,her dull eyes beam to life,running out that door with the
biggest smile on her face. Realizing it was an illusion in her mind,
seeing that he isn't outside her front door.

Waking up that night screaming from a horrible nightmare. He was
back in her life,palms almost touching as he gets ripped away into a black hole, finally it hitting her. He's gone, he's never coming back;
Picturing the last day she saw him,kissed him goodbye in his casket.
The love of her life, taken from this world for good.

Can you see the despair in her eyes?
Do you hear the pain in her voice?
Her heart is gone; she's no longer the same.

    Wow, Holly. Sadness so well penned that really makes the reader feel like they just got lost in emotion and story. Such an amazing trait of all your work. It really holds the reader's attention until the final stop.
