A Sunlit Path

by Mortal Utopia   Apr 7, 2012

Remember? Remember that time...
Remember our many walks across
That sunlit path, that path which,
I had thought, led to some paradise.

Hold my hand and let us walk again,
This path, which I now know,
Leads to here - for the world is round.
And yet, we walk on, to love, to smile,
To cry, and just to live. Hold my hand,
Let us walk, from now on, together.

Come! And look at these merry dancers!
These joyful faces, gleaming in smiles!
Hold my hand, and let us spin and twirl!

But as time goes on, we walk on,
To some place else, on our sunlit path,
But in the Sun, so much can be seen,
The happiness, and yet the pain,
But the sun will never be too much,
For under it, I can see you smile.
