Invisible

by Mortal Utopia   Oct 23, 2021

They say you may see ghosts
and things invisible on Halloween.
You know, what I wanted most
on October was to be seen

by you for a day.
For long enough to say

I see you too.

I wanted to be able to tell you

that I remember those memories
amongst Halloween's flippant tragedies
(and perhaps you cherish them too).

But is that wishful thinking?

I'm a ghost of a ship forever sinking.
And in the ocean, I can't even hear myself anymore.
