hush

by Mortal Utopia   Dec 4, 2021

hush, for i'm praying, hush.

more often than i should, i still pray
for the miracle i don't deserve.
and i still hear the whispers you lay
like stars in a darkness unnerved
and faded. the darkness of haunted silence
that seeped into the distance between us.
i guess i can only dream, but i dream too much
to remember that you're a light i can never touch.

hush, for i'm dreaming, hush.
