Dust of 21

by Sunshine   May 19, 2012

The one thing I am sure about,
on a day just like this one,
at a past May that got lost
between the fleeing dust of 21 years,
my father was holdig me through joy-
that filled his eyes,
right between his fatherly arms,
and I know, he was smilling.

Well, I think Noura said just about everything I was planning on saying so now I have to think everything over again. But I can definitely feel the love and unseen sadness etched into your lines. You write each word with a purpose and the meaning in each word holds a lot of emotion. I love the imagery you use and how you picture yourself in his arms and I think you did a wonderful job with the imagery. And yes, turning twenty-one your probably wondering where all those years have gone and also how it seems like yesterday you were just a little girl. Time fades away so fast.

All in all, I was well pleased with this poem and like always, you blow me away with your work and I can't wait to read more. Sorry it's been awhile since I could comment but life has had me busy. But in all sincerity I really think you did a great job at expressing your feelings and conveying a good message that I'm sure other can relate to all around the world. Great job and keep writing!!
