Food Coloring

Food for thought-

I wish to ask my
dark nightmare
if I were to dip
her heart in red,
would she bleed
every tear I've shed?

If I glazed her lips
in blue, would her
body quiver a
thousand frozen
memories?

and-

If I tossed her
into a river of yellow,
would she scream
"I'm a coward"
just so I would save
her from drowning?

Dear nightmare-
Your soul isn't worth
the eighty nine cents
I would have to spend
coloring up your darkness....
