Hosea and his wife, a poem.

Hosea and his wife, a poem.

(God told his Prophet Hosea to marry a Harlot)

*Hosea loved his wife, one day into another man's arms, she did stray.
Gone was his wife, the love of his life.
Bound by sin and shame, a woman of the streets she became.
One day on the slave block she did lay, to be sold to the highest bidder on that day.
No hope had she, from her loving husband she did flee.
The Lord said to Hosea go purchase your wife, give her a new life.
From the slave block he did take her away,
to be with him, forever to stay.
Hosea's wife who ran away, is a spiritual type of God
and the sinner, by the way.
When we look beyond the written word of God who do we see, who gave himself for you and me?
It is Jesus, the lover of our soul, he made us whole.
We are the purchased possession, those going to Heaven.
It was not with silver or gold the price he did pay,
it was the precious blood of Emanuel; accepted by his Father on that day.
Jesus went to Satan's slave block of sin, he said;
I want her, I want him.
Satan laughed and said; what price can you pay for these?
Jesus replied; I offer myself to my Father above,
for these, my enemies, who I do love.
I know I have been bought with a price, the only
ransom to make me whole.
Now married to Jesus, the lover of my soul.

*What God's word reveals to us through Hosea and his wife is the heart of the Lord. Israel at this time was deeply sinning against God. Much adultery and fornication was done in the flesh but it was the "Spiritual Adultery" that grieved the Lord the most. They had turned from his Holy Law given to them as his chosen people, to Idols. But as their God he remained faithful to them and turned them around after much punishment.

The picture we see with Hosea is when he bought back his wife, she never left him again. I remember Jesus saying, those forgiven much, love much!
