Flickering Candles

by Jump from Life   May 24, 2012

Flicker the candle light goes
As the flame licks the wicks toes.
Burning down the strength,
Cutting down the length
of time left until it breaks
and leaves melted wax in its wake.

How this reminds me of real life.
We all live everyday in strife,
nothing to feel but pain and woe.
The innocence of the doe
has been shattered before.
Now, nobody can adore.

Just as the flame goes out
so does the light, seeping in doubt.
No hope for her life to be saved.
All life she has been deeply graved
like that of the flickering flame,
out the light goes on the dame.
