Storms

by Jump from Life   May 24, 2012

The rain has battered my face,
left me alone to face the race
of humanity with no hope,
No chance to ever cope.

Down on my knees,
my soul finally flees
this life of toil and tears
that have haunted me all these years.

Wind whips at my chest,
pulling off the crest
of my family history
that will soon be a mystery.

Lightening rains down from the clouds,
creating and unholy shroud
around my tattered and battered body,
welcoming it like a little kid does candy.

Down onto my back,
I cannot begin to stack
up all my courage and get back up
because beside me is the blood filled cup.

The blood that was shed
as you had to be fed
by my hatred and distress,
please my soul you will bless.

I rise up into heaven tonight
Leaving on the ground all of my fright.
No longer feeling the pain,
or the torrent downpour of rain.
