Hide And Seek

I think that my subconscious still
keeps some traces of your memory.
There is no reminder of you in my life
no more pictures I hold of you and me.

But you come visiting my thoughts
not straightforward; unpredictability.
In the only place you know I cant run
away from, you chase me aggressively.

Every time in a more sinister setting
you plot every single move in my dreams.
Only when I believe that you had enough
you come raiding with new extremes.

Just like last night when you decided
to lock me in a room with only you.
You thought I could never escape it;
that there is nothing I could ever do.

Locking me behind the doors of my dreams
and leaving me with no keys to break loose.
You know its the only place where you can
be around me when you have no other excuse.

If I could trace the remains of you that
I keep hiding from being confessed.
Then perhaps I would stop wishing for
my lonely nights to become dreamless.

    Hey beautiful lady!

    This poem is completely dark. I felt like I was trapped as well while reading it. The words you've used, the tone, the rhyming, everything fits perfectly.

    I mean I only read the first two lines and was already captivated, because I knew how you felt. I've had those times where I felt like something or someone was invading my mind.
