Lost

by Mortal Utopia   Jul 10, 2012

He was a ghost, she wasn't,
Yet both were unseen, unheard,
Alone and lonely - perpetually lost.

One day, he saw her weeping.
In tears, she sat, imagining
Her make-belief friend.

They talked: him to her,
Her, to her friend. They smiled and cried
And imagined the other was listening.

He pretended she was talking to him.
She pretended her friend talks back.
He talks, unheard, she talks, he listens...

...But perhaps, miracles do happen,
Once in a while........................
.............................................

On the night of Halloween,
They slept, and dreamt a dream.
And in that dream they met.

They smiled, and laughed and danced,
They ran and ran, hand in hand,
And never got lost.

...But yet, every dream has an end...
I heard, they never truly met again,
But he walked - transparent - beside her ever since.

They were always together.
I heard he became her guardian angel.
That they laughed and smiled all the time,

And never got lost again.

Your poems are so so so lovely!! They reach the soul.
I really want to put all of them in my favourite list! They always bring a smile and a light feeling even though there's sadness in some.
And this one is sad...and so beautiful...
    You write amazing!
    Thank you for sharing.
