Nana Caymmi is singing just for me

by Karla   Jul 13, 2012

This undecided day
left me another pill
as I sit here, pretending
to have a poetic existence
or maybe the right purposeless
words annexed to my tongue.

But I gradually
succumb to the innocuous
possibility of being
absorbed again.
Nana Caymmi is singing
just for me and
it is so sweet to fall
into the final (un)bearable
unknown, (re)inventing
fate, co-creating
emptiness, hurting myself
for the last time
and for the last time
being the author
of my own elegy.

I was wondering who this person was and I am glad you put the link there, it gives the poem more of a reality feel, as if that we are there with you.

You are right - the words of the song I could not understand but the music itself was lovely.

The sadness though in the words of your poem can be felt. Especially when you are talking about death :( breaks my heart

This poem seems to have a sad air about it. I followed your link and listened...not that I could understand a word of her song..it was soothing and beautiful. With the lyrics on the screen I could kind of sing along a little but had no clue what I was singing lol

I enjoyed this piece too Karla. :) You do shine!!
