The mixed reality

by Alanis   Aug 15, 2012

It feels like a past life, a long lost reality.
Was it a dream, nothing but a wishful
Haze of scrambled memories? Why can't
I return to those simple times? For
Even I have forgotten the blessed
Sound of laughter or the happiness
Of smiling. Am I real? Could I be
Someone else's dream, siren song?
Could I be someone else's haze? But
Why tourcher me with such a dream?
Could I be an enemy? Could I be a
Nightmare wished upon the enemy?
Even I wouldn't cast my worst enemies
To the cruel misery and depression.
A place that will show you fear
In a claw full of shadows.
Bring you to your knees
In a forgotten sea. Leave
You stranded on a paradise
Of lies. Send you doom with
A venomous smile of fangs and broken
Ragged breaths of violence and hate.

Interesting poem, but very good. I loved your description of things at the end. I stumbled a few times reading this, it was slightly difficult to figure out the pace at which to read it. Just me though. 5/5
