Seeds Of A Rose

by Jenna Bella Oldridge   Aug 25, 2012

Court up in the chaos
Where the wind get in
Giving you a chill
No happiness just a momentary thrill

Oh it leaves you bare
Raped by the emptiness
That shatters your soul
Worms its way in and digs a hole

Disenabling you to move forward
Stopping you going back
Stuck in a web of depression
Tormented by your own aggression

Just powerless and beaten
Choking on your high pitched screams
Burning at the centre
Slowly killing hopes and dreams

Nothing left to live for
But too scared to die
Stuck here for eternity
With just one question "Why?"

And as the cracks get bigger
The wind shoots on in
pealing back the layers to
Reveal every sin

Nothing is hidden
Innocents goes up in smoke
Born so together
But living left you broke

And you will wilt here
Blend in with each weed
It's sad and it's tragic
To think you were a rose's seed

But you bloomed ugly
The seasons were unkind
And your dying roots no-one will ever find

Seriously I must say you are an intelligent writer and have written a thoughtful poem again.. I loved the usage of words... they are apt for this poem and you have penned the emotion very well:)

Amazing! I am in love with this poem. It is so deep and reflects someting for me which you might not have intended it to, but for abuse survivors this poem will touch deep and speak out to them very strongly.

    Your opening verse

    Court up in the chaos
    Where the wind get in
    Giving you a chill
No happiness just a momentary thrill

    - wind get in, should be wind gets in.

    Nothing is hidden
    Innocents goes up in smoke

    - innocents, i think you mean innocence?

The imagery of the rose blooming or producing a seed but it being less beauitful than most is quite heart breaking, it reminds me of the story The uGly Duckling.

    Thanks for sharing this.
