Haunted

by Mortal Utopia   Aug 30, 2012

Brick by brick, she decays:
Yet broken dreams haunt her still -
Forever weeping,
As memories never to live.

Prayers, forever unanswered,
Fly on - to beg, to plea, to murmur,
This lost sanctuary - long forgotten -
Stands haunted and rotten.

In the silent flames of time,
She decays. And with it,
The hopeful cocoon, made so lovingly,
Yet emptied of happiness.
