Feather Falling

by Maple Tree   Sep 4, 2012

Floating within a somber silence

snow bird whistles a familiar tune,

secretly blushing, shadows dance

side by side, they rest,

comforting my snowflake whispers.

Heated winds of a summers

edgy tomorrow, leave me

breathless, frozen as the winter

snow approaches.

Standing upon the highest limb

cotton wind chimes dangle,

I desire to float away,

and

feather fall into the night....

I realize I have to read this poem a fourth time after I comment here. This was very mind-provoking. I don't know how you connected summer to winter in a way that made me feel cold and warm at the same time.
There are some really nice word usage here, and some metaphors were quite intriguing.
The middle part is by far my favorite. Very well done! :) I love it!

Very good use of your metaphors Maple.

I wish I could feather fall into the night and sleep for an eternity.

    Keep writing!
