Goofy Love

by Maple Tree   Sep 15, 2012

I cordially invite you, Husband of mine
to enter my world of toxic rhyme.

I sprinkle happiness when I earn a wage,
then come home droopy and show my age.

A few minutes at home, I come alive,
love the things we do, thirty minutes after five.

The little things excite me, when it comes to you,
wink in your eyes and your morning hair doo.

The Mohawk look is rather sexy,
I quiver wildly when you drink your Pepsi.

Lots to do, many things to see
I'm much happier being just you and me.

Alone in this room, goofy and old,
told you from the start, I'll grow on you like mold.

So here we sit on a Saturday night,
you challenge me again, to design a fun write.

I'm happy to create a poem you can understand,
its spontaneous at best, truly wasn't planned.

I love to place a smile crossed your face,
hope this poem gets me at least to first base.

All I want is a kiss and a snuggle or two,
forever and always, I truly love you.
