The power of music

by lillie   Nov 14, 2012

Pink, blue, purple, and neon green shine right at me.
The motion of the lights stops my heart and sets my soul free.

The sound being transmitted into the core of my ear and into my brain.
This feeling of ultimate happiness, overcomes all of my pain.

Strangers around you, no one knows your name,
but in that moment, every single soul feels quite the same.

No one knows your story or who you really are,
you may be neighbours, maybe someone you have seen causally at the bar.

So here you are, your heart racing, your mind going blank.
In your mind, your happy, and the music is to thank.

Lights turn off, and in a blink the show ends before your eyes.

All bad memories erased for a temporary time,
you remember nothing, not even precious little lies.

You leave the party wishing that it never had to end.
Party ended smoothly, as music brought you a new friend.

* I wrote this poem in tribute, to an awesome concert I went to and how it made me feel*

Music gives me the same feeling too. It's one of the best forms of catharsis you could ever turn to.
