Have you ever wished to freeze
time in a snowflake?

Powder crystals fall upon
lashes of a last minute
tear drop, and in that
moment, life grants
me a few more moments
alone with my love.

I'm loosing him as the snowfall
breaks for a cool calm,
holding onto his breathe
like an icicle in my palms,
falling memories slowly
melt
away
.
.
.
.
this is one moment I wish
the sun would stop shining~

You know, it's strange when a poem makes me cry, and I understand the meaning of this piece so well, In that sense I would also like for the sun to stop shinning so it wont melt the memories and the time you are spending with your love.

Andrea, your peices are always so moving to me, the emotions are so raw and powerful. time really does go by too fast, especially with the ones we love the most. its never enough. i loved this.

For me this^ did a lot.. I kind of fell for this beautiful meaning and adored the whole piece. I think love never melts even in the coldest moments of winter, a snowflake of time will remain forever solid if it held the spirit of love. :)

I like this poem it inspired me to write a poem about snowflakes pouring like moments.
One really gets near the paradox here . the paradox of wanting to freeze the warm moments to hold on to them but then they lose their warmth. literally you say opposite, but the battle of warm and cold sustain the same paradox : we could never hold on to anything .

Have you ever wished to freeze
    time in a snowflake?

    - actually no, I haven't. But you now know what I am going to do next time I see a snowflake falling infront of me. I love this idea so much and was " awwing" over this opening line for a long time before continuing with the poem. It makes such a difference from the wishing on a penny or star metaphors, it is brilliant, it relates to the time of year and coldness and winter and perhaps even Christmas which makes us miss those loved ones and we wish for them to be with us again. Oh Maple this needs to be a quote in itself please?

    Powder crystals fall upon
    lashes of a last minute
    tear drop, and in that
    moment, life grants
    me a few more moments
    alone with my love.

    - This is such a sad but deep and moving moment you have described. It is something we know we take for granteed way too often because quite frankly we get too busy in life to stop and appreciate every small thing, no matter how much we try. This is beautiful.

I'm loosing him as the snowfall
    breaks for a cool calm,
    holding onto his breathe
like an icicle in my palms,
    falling memories slowly
    melt
    away

-again, very moving words and the imagery of this and to know how you are feeling emotionaly it is just heart breaking. memories melting away - that is so sad because it indicates that you want more memories to add to the collection and feel the memory book is not yet complete. You fear of losing the ones you do have, and in time they might become too distant to be clear. I realte to these words so much.

this is one moment I wish
    the sun would stop shining~

    - I totally understand what you meant by this ( I think ). It is not so much you wish the sun to stop shining because you do not feel happy and bright etc, or that you want to be in darkness. But you want it to stop shining because if there is no heat from the sun, this snowflake would not melt and the memories and love would not fade away. Everything would remain just as it was before and all the pain would disappear. This is what you were wishing for.

This is such a deep write Maple, I relate very much to the words and the meaning of the poem and as usual, your wording makes it all the more sad because you touch my heart.

Keep writing these out, your heart needs to let out its tears too xx
