Then I Would Know

by Someone Invisible   Jan 13, 2013

If I asked you how long we would be together;
If you said "Baby, Forever."
then I would know right there,
we would not last together.

If I asked you how much you loved me;
If you said "Baby, with everything."
then I would know right there,
the pain you would bring.

Don't feed me your lies and smile.
Don't want to drink your particular poison.
I know right now that I must walk away,
and save me a lifetime of heartbreaking pain...

    This shows how deep your mistrust in goodness and love is. Like you cannot believe the promises made so you doubt them and push them away.

    It is interesting because this poem could show this, that it is just your own insecurties. Or it could mean that you can see through them honestly and know they are lying. Either way, it leaves you wanting to walk away fromt hem because you do not want to be hurt again.
