Beauty isn't enough [Senryu-Tanka]

by Khalid M Darwish   Feb 1, 2013

How often you see -
a far beautiful woman
clearer than the sky!

But someday she gets
so furious with that anger
which seems nothing but
a swamp indicating that
muds resides in its bottom

Love how truthful your peices are. Anger can destroy beauty if it is over used and let to control the person. But everyone is allowed to have angry mud in them if they keep it at bay.

Well done for mixing the 2 forms, you worked them together well.

This made me laugh! It tends to be the prettiest birds who are the the most deadly. I agree with this poem, 100%, and I'm a female myself.

The metaphor in this could not have been written any better. Flawless. If you start in on that anger, the mud indicates it's going to be messy, nasty, and very hard to get out of! I like this!

Hehe... this reminded me of the piece I wrote today, haha, though this is about women. But yeah, beauty isn't enough, but getting angry is something that happens to anyone, and it doesn't necessarily makes them like a swamp unless is all the time. Then there is something wrong with that someone.

I found humour in this piece, but yes, i feel it belongs to the life section. Very good write.
