Lithium

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 3, 2013

I held the key to the whispers; I knew
you were cinereal in color and unforgivable
through every dimension.

I strayed along moss-covered forest
grounds and my eyes were too often
glossed over in order to stop myself
from living out aggression with carnal
love.

I would kill more with my blood than
with my thoughts....
my speech soon overtook the speed
of rivers and I was an irrational waterfall,
rushing forward,
everyone too terrified to discuss the
manic footprints I purposefully
left visible.

---

But you, you entered my nerves and
muscle cells to end my excitation.

---

My mania was overtaken by your
anxiety, and now this body needs
a dose of lithium
for the leech you have morphed into.

Maryanne, ugh, I can't get my thoughts in track right now...its early Sunday Lol and this piece was just so powerful, the imagery left in each stanza and the way I was carried through each...just amazing and that darkness and love was such a great combo.

    Love it...
