A Friend To Be

....Collection of commentaries from two poets....

Starring at your picture all day long,
Unable to say a single word,
I wanted you so badly to be my friend
But how do I say this, oh dear Lord?

How do I applaud you
Or where should I begin from?
If I say you are the one I need,
Would that make you come
Closer to me, once and forever,
And tentatively bless my day?

Speak truth and
Let it be known,
Be graceful and
I'll never be missed.
Ask and be replied.

I see you are pretty witty
And that is really spiffy.
Of course, I will be graceful,
And certainly be truthful.
But what says you,
That we write a poem together?
You sure do not need any clue,
Let one mind mingle with the other.

Sure then,
If it suits you, we shall see.
But just one thing I need to know,
Do you think you can handle me?

I won't say that I really can do so
Because I'm not yet a pro,
But a lovely angel like you
Won't let me feel so blue.
So if you'd simply lead the way,
I will gladly follow along all day!
