I Love You, Baby

by Jenni Marie   Sep 2, 2013

Words could never do justice, to how it
feels when your arms are wrapped around
my neck. I could never truly describe what
it feels like when your little legs carry you
hurriedly forward into my waiting embrace.
I could never even attempt to explain to
someone else, how it feels when your head
is lay upon my chest and I hear our hearts
beating in unison. It would be impossible to
detail the overwhelming love I feel pouring
from every fibre of my being when you tell
me, 'I love you too mummy'

{For my love for you is
unconditional, never ending...
absolute. You are my whole
world.}

Every second spent with you is priceless,
every moment where you are wrapped
within my arms stamped upon my memory.
I'd do anything for you. They say you can
never understand {true} love until you
become a parent, and I have to say; I agree.
For nobody could ever understand the depth
of my love for you unless they felt it for their
own. I repeat: I'd do anything for you. I'd die
for you if I needed to.

And it's true, baby, things haven't been as
they should recently. But all that is changing
now and slowly; slowly you are coming back
to me-where you belong. Where you have
always belonged. Where you always will belong.
In my arms, my heart, my mind, my soul.

{Mummy loves you.}

    Really emotional poem JM, I love it. You know I'm all for imagery and emotions, and I think this poem of yours reflect the style of poetry that I like, I particularly liked for example the imagery of the two hearts beating at the same time at the beginning, showing an ethereally eternal connection between mother and son.

    The middle stanza was good, and I see it as mostly emotions and thoughts recollected together, still conveying a really powerful emotional message, carrying thoughts and considerations that are the consequence of the true emotions that the poem has been feeling. To me the poet wants to express her burning desire for a love that never really ceased to exist, always existed, and always will exist.

    My favourite stanza, though, was definitely the last one, I really liked the positivity of it as well as the many repetitions at the beginning of each sentence as not only did it create rythm, but it also created a bigger emotional impact for the reader
