Last Round

by Jack Nightengale   Dec 28, 2013

Here's a glass,
Take a seat.
It was like this in the pass,
It'll stay the same the next time we meet.

Remember the day you first spoke?
It was the same day I started to smoke.
Its a little weird how that works, its a little strange,
But, it's funny to know that some things will never change.

This old town is taking a turn,
It'd be a shame to watch this old bar burn.
No need to rush, take your time, make it last!
I'll grab the bottle and another glass.

You know..this sort of reminds me of a song I like a lot, but with a different twist and meaning to it.
' No need to rush, take your time, make it last!
I'll grab the bottle and another glass. '

I like those last two lines for some reason. It just... it calls out to me, if that makes any sense? I can't exactly word it...

But overall, this whole poem is really awesome. Great job hun :)
