Someone Understands, Jump Into Life Part 1 (monthly)

by CathyButterflyJC   Jan 15, 2014

This one's for all the lads and gals out there,
Who have felt excluded,
Mistreated,
Never defended.

This is for all the teenagers,
Who have ever felt like an outcast,
Like they going to go far,
And will never belong.

For everyone who has ever felt,
Like they aren't good enough,
With everyone telling them their dreams aren't meant to be succeeded,
Well they're wrong.

When you fall down,
And everyone's constantly kicking you,
Like they don't want to see you stand,
And you can never have the upper hand.

When you make a friend and your friendship grows stronger every day,
Who's an outcast just like you,
But nobody ever approves,
Not taking the time to see what's true.

When the world's telling you to follow their lead,
And you see a path calling to thee,
Ignored by everyone but suiting you perfectly,
Feeling like you should follow your heart.

When tears are streaming down your cheeks,
And your heart is a closest set,
With so called friends telling you how you should feel,
And that how you felt all along just isn't real.

When you don't know how to stay strong,
Twists and turns in the road keep ending up wrong,
But your lives spinning by too fast for you to ask directions at the cross-roads,
Or see the warning signs by the side of the road.

When a tragic event spoils your inspiration,
A beloved one takes a step away you can't followed,
And your whole world's tumbling apart,
Walls are falling down as a whisper that's not your own says don't follow your heart.

When you try to do your best for someone who doesn't care,
Filling up your future with plans like they'll be there,
When you realize you've been blinded all alone,
Don't know how to pick up the pieces of your heart as a tear begins to fall.

Losing your beliefs to some faulty persuasion,
Throwing darts at your opinions,
Creating between your ears their own observation,
As who you really are wears thin.

Remember I understand,
And others do too,
Somewhere out there,
Is a voice to get to know you,
Someone understands.

This one's for all the lads and gals out there,
Who have felt excluded,
Mistreated,
Never defended
Unable to belong.

When you make a friend
And your friendship grows stronger every day,
Who's an outcast just like you,
But nobody ever approves,
Not taking the time to see what's true.

When everyone finds something's 'in',
And it goes against your morals and your sense,
With the world's pressure on all sides,
As you try to keep your mind and innocence.
With the 'best interest' telling you how you should feel.

Remember you are not alone
You will never be alone
Someone's out there reaching out a hand
Someone understands
Through it all

This is a great poem bringing good points across. It is in a human nature to judge instead of getting to know you. People often tend to tell you what to do and how to feel. They can't understand because they have not walked in the same shoe. All what it takes is one good strong person by your side that supports you and provide strength to overcome everything. Important is you know who you are, where you come from and where you are going. Keep writing

This is a very beautiful poem hon. The only thing I will keep harping on is the length. Though the message is very strong altogether here you could have said what you said in a fewer words. Anyway the poem itself is great. This character is such a kind hearted person. And I can tell you made their personality shine through everything. No matter what they will be a friend to everyone who is hurt. This might be based on reality and this person is amazing if it is. :). I think nowadays it's hard to stand up for anything without feeling judged or getting hurt. Overall this is a great poem because of the message alone. Well done.
