The Fly and I (Double Etheree)

by Maple Tree   Mar 31, 2014

I
the fly,
beetle, toad
crossed the river
on a milkweed boat,
staying afloat we reached
a place where dreams become real,
while fantasy bows in our presence
Mr. Lewis has tea with three and me
while we merrily feast in a castle,
filled with cakes, berries and small fairy's
Mushroom dancers, tiny prancers
waltz with the King and his Queen,
A goat in a coat; sings
adorned in gold rings,
waves goodbye to
my friend the
fly and
I

This was fun! I like reading stories. This one flowed smoothly. I like the journey, I was taken. Plus it has this cheerful and constant tone. It kept me entertain from start to finish. I also like tht you started with I and that you ended with I too.

At first read I thought it could have been a palindrome etheree. However, after reading I realized it wasn't. But I was not disappointed. I enjoyed reading the story.

I have never ever been able to write a double etheree so when I read one I am overjoyed. Maple this makes my imagination run wild and as a creative and image writer I love this to death. The rhymes are a nice touch as well. You don't see that often in an etheree. Anyways the use of nature is wonderful. The first thing I thought of when I read this was a fairytale like alice inwonderland. The characters are so unique ib their own way and each one you have given their own personality and brought them to life . Here I can imagine the main character going on an adventure andalong the way with each small stop making a new ffriend. And by the end their are richer from the endeavours they have experienced. Anyways this proves you can do anything when you let your imagination run wild :D. Beautiful!
