In The Midnight Hour

by Sylvia   Jun 2, 2014

In the midnight hour
when sleep won't come,
memories swirl in a purple haze,
making their way through the maze.
Remember those days,
from long ago
we were young and in love.

Think about the time
we spent together
under the stars,
a twinkle in your eye,
our love shining,
in the midnight hour.

I love and adore this song! So as I read this pretty poem by Sylvia, I couldn't help but smile. What a pretty poem she has crafted here.
It's simplistic tones and word display is what gives it a shiny touch. Greatly enjoyed this poem.
I am always interested in reading poetry in reference to music, always excited to see the how the writer views the song and in Sylvia's piece, she allows the reader to get lost in the elegance of the moon, seeing the elegance of midnight in her own words, just beautiful!

Lovely little story - it shows how you hold onto that memory when we lie awake, it is funny where our mind can lead us sometimes. I lik ehow this poem can be related to any relationship, past or present, there is no real hint at loss or anything as such, just that memory of how they used to be, but at the same time no really strong feelings that imply it is no longer that way anymore.

    Beautiful little write.
