Bathroom Poetry

by Maple Tree   Sep 17, 2014

I was touched by
sunrise, inspired
to breathe another day.

Moonbeams played peek-a-boo
with thoughts,
as my hairbrush
stroked depression,
releasing
tears of a very bad
evening.

I scribbled
nightmares
on tile, in every
corner of the bathroom.

Looking in the mirror
by morning, pain
is not staring back at me-

Only a smile....

It's haunting yet enchanting, there's almost a fairytale, ethereal quality to your words, it is truly beautiful :-)

I know exactly what you mean, and you succeeded! Magnificently so! I absolutely love it, I can't stress that enough! If I had the rights to nominate poems, I would!

No really, I would have to spend god knows how long to formulate a decent comment about this poem. I love it! It's so beautiful. It captures everything I always want to capture in my own poetry - it creates magic from the mundane.

      Jean-

You know those moments that are private, such as thoughts and secrets that only you and privacy can share? That is the moment I tried to capture in this piece... and I thank you for your comment.. makes me smile :-)
